One of the region's best known upscale resorts The Datai in Langkawai has undergone a management change.
Legacy operator GHM (General Hotel Management)have been changed to the new chain Archipelago Hotels and Resorts.
The latter has a controlling ownership by Malaysian firm Landmarks Berhad who also are significant shareholders in the chain.
Archipelago also operate Carcosa Seri Negara and The Club at Saujana.
Landmarks Bhd is currently developing a mega mixed use project just off Singapore Bintan Treasure Bay in Indonesia. They also are behind the exclusive Eastern and Oriental train service.
GHM used to manage The Chedi in Phuket which is now independent and has been rebranded The Surin.
