EXCLUSIVE International Chain Takes Over West Sands

Mai Khao's West Sands destination resort has entered into a hotel management agreement with Singapore's Ariva Hospitality.

Industry veterans Cameron Ong (ex Ascott CEO) and Jean-Claude Erne head the new brand which has quickly grown to 8 properties in the region including China and Vietnam. Their development pipeline includes expansion into the Philippines and Middle East.

Ronald Loges who is Ariva's Vice President of Operations is currently at West Sands overseeing the transition to the management company. Phase one of the project has been completed and currently in soft opening, with the second phase set for Q1 2011 and a full grand opening then.

Moving into the high season horizon the West Sands Vacation Club shared ownership recent launch and growth in Splash Jungle water park numbers look to see the resort start to come into its own.

Do you think they will rebrand the place? Name change? Thanks

No announcement yet on name change, they are highly vested into West Sands.
