According to published comments by the ACCOR collaboration with Thai hospitality group Erawan the ibis Krabi is presently on hold along with budget hotel projects in Hua Hin and Sri Racha.

Currently the group own 7 properties under the brand including the recently opened ibis Riverside next to the Chaophraya river.

Erawan had a substantial impact from the Red Shirt demonstrations earlier in the year within it's Bangkok owned properties which include the Grand Hyatt Erawan, JW Marriott and Courtyard by Marriott.

Thailand's limited service or budget sector is now in full expansion mode with other international chains such as Holiday Inn Express, Tune Hotels, Langham's Eaton and the recent launch of Onxy Hospitality's Ozo.
