Speaking to a senior company executive at the hotel management company it's been confirmed the Dusit Devarana Eighth Heaven Resort in Phang Nga is moving forward in the development process. Set to break ground in Q2 2010, construction is expected to be completed within 30 months. Currently some design changes are underway which will revise the total number of exclusive villas.
With a location over the Sarasin bridge and views back into Phang Nga Bay, the setting will continue a shift of new areas on the island taking advantage of the east coast's unique aspect.
Back of the chain's successful D2 hotels in Chiang Mai and Pattaya, Phuket would be an ideal location for the lifestyle offering of the emerging brand. Dusit already operate the well-regarded Dusit Laguna Resort in Phuket.

Where is exactly location for this project? And there are any movement for Similana Khaolak?
Thanks
Bill Barnett responds:
The Dusit project when last we checked had been on hold. When you go over the Sarasin Bridge you go up a few km and make a U turn and then take the road going to Khon Kihn pier, the site is located insider that road, facing into Phang Nga bay. On Similina the project is owner by an overseas group who have not released redevelopment plans for the moment. Hope this helps.
Bill Barnett responds:
In most cases the new development areas are where you have a combination of larger land plots that branded hotels can develop, you have the ocean and ideally a nice aspect for upscale properties, which is why we see Nai Thon, Mai Khao, Yamu developing, as land near the ocean on Phuket is becoming less available we see movement to the islands in Phang Nga Bay, Koh Siray and yes Phang Nga..its where you can get larger hotel sites. Thanks
