The continuing drama of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) implementation appears to be a rocky road for the tourism industry.

Thailand's hotel owners and tour companies are digging in their heels over plans to allow increased foreign ownership and market liberalization by 2015.

A fierce lobbying effort is being played out within government circle and the media focusing on the livelihood issue of smaller domestic players.
