Koh Samui hotels are enjoying a resurgence in hotel operating metrics to date in 2011.
Two banner international hotels are set to open their doors the second half of the year.
Conrad will debut on September 1st. I visited the property last week and was toured by General Manager Justin Phillips.
It was hard not to be suitably impressed with a quality project, some very cool food and beverage outlets and stunning views over the picturesque Five islands.
While nearby old Phuket hand Arnaud Girodon who was previously General Manager of Indigo Pearl is now heading up the InterContinental Baan Taling Ngam.
The hotel is closed for a USD30 million upgrade with Thai design icons P49 handling the creative side.
An opening is set for December 5th , and will see the room count increase from 77 to 81 keys.
Expectations are also high that an international chain will be appointed shortly at the Gurich Resort (formerly Langham Place) in Lamai.
