CHINA HOTEL SURGE 44% of Global Room Pipeline

According to data from Lodging Econometrics in their latest global report a booming China economy now accounts for 44% of global hotels under development or a stunning 234, 382 rooms.

One compelling statistic is that 79% of these projects are already under construction which will see new supply come at accelerated rates.

India ranks in with 79,9015 rooms in the pipeline or 454 hotels.

Interestingly for the rest of Asia the pipeline is continuing to flatten out, though 59% of the Southeast Asia pipeline is under construction and most coming on line between now and 2012.
