BREAKING NEWS: Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott Jakarta Hit by Bomb

Media reports are streaming in on twin bomb blasts in Jakarta Indonesia at the Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott hotels. Any formal casualty figures are yet to be released. The JW Marriott was hit by a bombing in 2003 and Bali's Kuta tourist district had a deadly bombing in killing 182 people. Terrorism and security on high on the agenda for the upcoming ASEAN Foreign Minister Meeting in Phuket.

After the recently political turmoil in Thailand, Bali saw a huge redirection of visitors to the resort island and is in the midst of high season for Australia who are a major segment. Recent elections saw President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono retain leadership and in what has been one of Asia's best performing economy's during the recent global downturn, was considering to be a strong fundamental for stability.
