The 41 key Mangosteen Resort in Phuket's southern Rawai area is back on the market with an asking price of THB 300 million according to owner Hajo von Keller. Opening in 2003, the property was under negotiation with a purchaser last year from Singapore, though this did not materialize after the economic downturn.
The Rawai area plays home to the luxury Evason Resort and Six Senses Spa which is looking to undergo a comprehensive renovation and soon to open Outrigger Serenity Terraces Resort. While Phuket's hotel market continue to outperform other locations in Thailand there is an expectation to see renewed transaction activity over the next 12-24 months.
