Kata's boutique resort the Boathouse is closing down from June 1st until September 30th for a renovation.
Guest rooms and public areas will be upgraded, with an opening set for October 1st.
The property was acquired recently by luxury resort group Three Dolphins, who own well-known luxury resort Trisara.
As tourism booms on the island a number of older properties are taking downtime to raise standard and refresh their looks in a growing competitive market.
Both The Surin (formerly Chedi) and Indigo Pearl have announced low season closures.
