In the continuing brand wars of hotel management companies Singapore-based Banyan Tree has been replaced by Thailand's Anantara for the management of the Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa in Abu Dhabi.
With an opening date of early 2012 on the table, the move comes after a series of operator and owner disagreements that have hit the press.
Banyan Tree's Angsana brand was to have adorned the property but a difference of opinion led to the chain moving out of the agreement, which paved the way for Anantara to be appointed.
Minor International's Anantara Hotels and Resorts are continuing to pursue a rapid growth footprint both here and abroad.
