The changing shift continues with more Thai investor's developing hospitality investments with the Sinthoranee Group announcement of a 400 million baht hotel project in Patong to be launched in Q3 of this year. Branding will be done with international group Best Western who already have a number of flags on the island.

Patong has seen a number of new hotels enter the supply stream over the past year including chains such as Millennium, Mercure and Courtyard by Marriott. The high profile Hard Rock Café will be opening soon at the later property and along with the success of Jungceylon as a shopping destination is adding attractions into the accommodation catchment area.
