Koh Samui's Baan Taling Ngam will come under global chain InterContinental Hotels Group.

The property which traded last year from the Lehman's portfolio to Elite Villa Co., Ltd. which is a company controlled by the owners of the IHG Bangkok property the Srivikorn family.

A USD15 million upgrade will take place in line with the re-positioning to the luxury level with a reopening date of the first of December 2011.

The rebranding of the name will be to InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort.

In years past management affiliations included global players Mandarin Oriental and Le Meridien.
