Uber luxury operator Aman have opened a new boutique 24 suite property 'Amantaka' in emerging Luang Prabang Laos. Tagged as a spiritual retreat the destination was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995. With buildings that were designed as part of the French Colonial period, restoration of the structures has been a painstaking process.
Here in Phuket the chain operates the high end benchmark Amanpuri in Surin Beach. Cultural tourism continues to be on the rise and Luang Prabang is currently one of the buzz worlds for well traveled high end globetrotters. Much is being written lately about the move away from cookie cutter institutional hotels, and the smaller more eclectic approach is continuing to gain momentum.
