Allan Zeman Enters Boutique Hotel Market

Hong Kong business tycoon Allan Zeman is set to enter the growing boutique hotel market with the opening of the upscale Andara Resort Residences this coming December. Speaking to General Manager Klaus Rauter recently who is an alumni of Banyan Tree, the resort is being pitched with room rates along the lines of Amanpuri, and Trisara. It's scalable private luxury with opening rates in the range of US$900 to1800. Rate will be the priority and driving objective of the property rather then occupancy given the premium product and strong financial base of the group.

Comprised of 37 units, some are pitched into a rental scheme while others will be maintained as private residences. Rentals for the adjacent high end Andara villa project will also be managed by the team, which will operate a beach club on the northern end of Kamala bay and the resort will have an 8 room sophisticated spa, with other facilities including a fine Asian dining outlet.

There have been discussions of expanding the brand in the region with the logical next stop being the boom market of China. 'Millionaire's Mile' in Kamala is shaping up to be a significant hotel market back of recently opened Cape Sienna, Ayara Kamala and soon to launch Paresa. At some point the Marriott Kamala Cove also looks to join the fray once the Lehman's stake is resolved by Destination Properties.
